Haworth Village Blog

Haworth village is situated above the Worth Valley amid the atmospheric Pennine moors in West Yorkshire, just north of Bradford . Haworth is internationally famous for its connection with the Bronte sisters, who wrote most of their famous works while living at the Haworth Parsonage, while their father was parson at the adjacent Haworth church.Haworth village also hosts many unique and interesting events throughout the year.There is the spectacular Haworth 1940s weekend where the village steps back in time to the 1940s, there are vintage cars, military vehicles and bands and street entertainment all weekend and big band dances on the Saturday night, locals and visitors are encouraged to don wartime attire and join in with the nostalgic atmosphere.At Christmas there are 6 weekends of festivities including the famous "Scroggling of the Holly" and "The Torchlight Procession" full details of all weekends are listed in the events section.In Haworth itself there are many cosy tea rooms, unique and interesting shops, charming restaurants, pubs and hotels , Guest Houses and Bed & Breakfasts. Making Haworth an ideal base for exploring the Bronte Country , while still being close to the major cities of Bradford and Leeds .
